25.01.2005 Srdjan Dizdarevic, President of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in B&H, said that 2004 was marked by the verbal commitment by B&H authorities to the Euro-Atlantic integrations. On the other hand, Bosnia and Herzegovina visibly lags behind the neighbouring countries.

The town of Kakanj
14.01.2005 Passing through Bosnia and Herzegovina, you will notice a great number of small towns, such as Kakanj, Vitez, Gorazde, Novi GradÂ… They seem like places that you would avoid even to visit a friend. Bad infrastructure, urban solutions, the decaying facades, shops, the all prevailing grayness is ever present. At the same time, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Brcko and several other bigger cities look great, modernÂ… they look like the rest of the world.

11.01.2005 On January 19, 2005, the Regional Team for Monitoring of War Crimes Trials in Domestic Courts in Belgrade, Zagreb, Banja Luka and Vukovar, will be officially promoted in Sarajevo. The promotion of the Team, together with the presentation of the Guide for Investigation of Human Rights Violations and War Crimes, used by the Hague Tribunal investigators, are just some of the activities of the three NGOs from Sarajevo, Zagreb and Belgrade.

10.01.2005 The premiere of the documentary film "Blind Justice", directed by Aldin Arnautovic and Refik Hodzic, was held last week at the Media Centre Sarajevo. The film was produced with the financial support by the Open Society Fund B&H, as co-production effort of the XY Films Production Company and the Heinrich Boll Foundation.

10.01.2005 Sarajevo based Media Centre created a website for the Research and Documentation Centre IDOC, which will offer the interested parties to find texts and articles published in the daily and periodical press in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The website is already functional and offers a database of over 14,000 articles, and the archives are expanded with approximately 200 new items every day. The project will be officially promoted in March of this year.
