Transparency International B&H started the implementation of a new project, a media campaing “Responsibility and Transparency in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Srdjan Blagovcanin, the Spokesperson of TI B&H talked to OneWorld about the reasons for the country’s fall from 70th to 82nd place on the Global Corruption Perception Study.

Mediacentar Sarajevo obilježava 10 godina uspješnog rada i postojanja. The first PYAF! Fair of Youth Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Prijedor, March 25-26. The Fair was organized by Youth Partnership Programme – POP B&H and the Manifest Urban Initiative from Prijedor.

The Voluntary Service Overseas VSO seeks a Coordination Partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina, organization that will assist in the implementation of the B&H programme for charity action. The goal of the programme is to correct the existing misbalance between the demand and supply of volunteers in the social and non-state sectors.

Almost a year ago, the construction of the ‘Roma House’ started in Prijedor, through a joint effort of the Government of Republic of Srpska and municipal administration. Although it was a prefabricated building thta should have been finished long time ago, and in spite of the fact that it was officially opened on December 10, 2004, the house is not yet ready for people to move in.

The “Networking Fair” was organized in Tuzla on March 18, under the auspices of a Project of the Referent Group Tuzla, “NGO Sector Development through Support to the Establishment of Functional NGO Networks in B&H”, supported by the European Commision Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first session of Model of Council of Ministers launched jointly by Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNDP and UN Voulnteers took place in Sarajevo on March 8 and on March 9 in premises of BiH institutions. Participants were students and members of youth organizations from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prijateljice (Girlfriends) Ngo from Tuzla organized distribution of 500 brochures on prevention of breast cancer, conditions to rent wigs and hairpieces for persons that take cancer treatment, and where to get the pink ribbons – the symbol of fight against breast cancer. The action was organized under the activities for observation of March 8, International Women Day. The action took place in three popular spots in Tuzla.

On the suspicion of taking part in an organized criminal group, the Special Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the B&H Prosecution Office brought up the charges against Dragan Covic, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to Covic, who is also charged with abuse of office and bribing members of the judiciary, charges were brought against the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Mate Tadic, the brothers Ivankovic from the “Lijanovic” Meat Processing Industry, and Zdravko Lucic, professor at the Sarajevo Law Faculty.
