The collaboration between United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Volunteers (UNDP/UNV), several Italian and Bosnian youth organizations and 6 municipalities in BiH resulted with a project aiming to benefit youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting the employment of this population. Implementation of this project will begin immediately and will encompass a range of trainings and other activities focusing on management of Info-Resource Centers and Community Communication.

“Partner”, Banja Luka based humanitarian organization, started a campaign for support to the disabled persons in the area of Prijedor, under the moto “I can’t stand on my feet, by I think – ergo, I am”. The goal of the campaign is to enable these people to lead autonomous lives and have a say when choosing their education and employment.

The Youth Communication Centre from Banja Luka, under its project „Volunteering – Optimism Spreading Activity”, implements the second phase of the project which includes education on volunteering for high school students in the regular curriculum, as well as development of Parents’ Councils in secondary schools.

The Presidency of the European Union, the Embassies of the USA, NATO and the Office of High Representatives in B&H (OHR) condemned the events at the military barracks in Manjaca and in Bileca, when the March class of recruits of the RS Army pledged their allegiance to the Republic of Srpska, and not Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the public opinion poll conducted by the Mladi.Info portal on a sample of 764 persons, over 91.4 percent of the citizens that took part in the poll believe that the Government should establish a specialized deparment or office for the Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 4.8 Percent believe that such a body is not really necessary, 2.4 percent are not interested, and 1.4 percent said they donÂ’t know what to say.

The B&H Helsinki Committee for Human Rights expressed its concern over the sexual harassment of university students which, according to the available indicators, is an increasingly frequent phenomenon in Bosnian and Herzegovinian Universities.

Forum građana Tuzle je uradio anketu o tome koliko gradjani znaju o opštini, mjesnim zajednicama u kojima žive i ulozi mjesne samouprave. Anketiranjem je obuhvaćeno 3500 građana. Jedan od razloga koji je doveo do ovog anketiranja je činjenica da su mjesne zajednice u poslijeratnom periodu potpuno razvlašćene i nemaju nikakve nadležnosti.
