Korac should appologize, say CURE
28.06.2006 Lidija Korac, sitting member of the B&H Central Election Commission, in her appearance in the “Korak” show on Hayat TV (June 27, 2006, 21:00 hours), allowed herself to say, among other misogynist statements, that “...not creating a family, should be seen as failure (for the women)”.

26.06.2006 In compliance with the Cooperation Agreement concluded with the German Government, the BH Women Initiative (BHWI) Foundation announces the opening of public competition for financing of projects under the Economic Empowerment and Fight against Women Poverty Programme. The Competition is directed at interventions aimed at greater inclusion of women in labour, employment and self-employment in the country.

21.06.2006 In the period from June 12 through June 20, under the Inforamatization of Zenica Region Secondary Schools project implemented by the Creative Development Foundation and the Youth Information Agency (OIA), a local youth group met with the headmasters of eight secondary schools in Zenica and the teachers of information sciences in those schools.

19.06.2006 On the night of Thursday, June 13, ethnic riots and turmoil erupted in Mostar after the end of the Croatia-Brazil football match, played during the 2006 World Cup in Germany. One person suffered serious injury from a gun shot. Six members of the Police were also injured during the intervention that resulted in 26 arrests.

19.06.2006 The Trieste-Sarajevo Cycling Tour was completed last Friday, June 16, with the arrival of the 25 cyclists in front of the Historical Museum of B&H, where a press-conference was held to mark the event.

13.06.2006 On Sunday, June 11, the students Department of Product Design at the Academy of Fine Arts (AFA), in cooperation with visiting artists fom Germany and Canada and the Sarajevo Centre for Contemporary Arts, raised a big DOSTA! logo (5X5 metres), made of black and white balloons. The logo, created in a seven-day workshop held in Sarajevo.

08.06.2006 The Dosta! Movement organized, last Saturday, June 3, a protest concert in the “Vilsonovo Setaliste” (Wilson’s Walkabout) in Sarajevo. Initially, the concert was planned to take place on the plateau in front of the Building of Joint Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the B&H Parliament), but the authorities didn’t allow it.

02.06.2006 On May 18-19, the Transitions Online organized a round table discussion, at the Mediacentre Sarajevo, to discuss the reporting on war crimes trials in the countries of the region. The discussion gathered 18 NGO and media representatives from Croatia, Serbia, B&H and Montenegro. The challenges presented by the war crimes trials, the human rights violations were just two of the topics discussed.
