The jury of the 12th Sarajevo Film Festival awarded the Human Rights Award for promotion of human rights to “Vukovar – Final Cut”, a film by Croatian journalist Drago Hedl and Belgrade director Janko Baljak.

The DOSTA activist movement of B&H citizens fighting for their dignity organized protest gathering in Sarajevo last Saturday, August 26, under the motto “Stop to Violence, Campaign Lies and Hate-Mongering”. The protests were held on Oslobodjenje-Alija Izetbegovic Square.

Under the auspices of the Green Tour Project, the “Zelenkovac 2006” Green Fest will open officially tomorrow, August 26, in Zelenkovac, near Mrkonjic Grad. The festival closes on Sunday, August 27.

A consortia of organization from Bosnia and Herzegovina started the Information Wanted campaign, in Spring 2006. The campaign activities will culminate on September 28, the International Day of Free Access to Information, through a series of workshops, public presentations and debates in eight cities - Zenica, Mostar, Drvar, Livno, Zvornik, Bihac, Tuzla and Sarajevo.

On Sunday, July 16, the “Svjetlost-Menar” Cultural Advancement Association held a public debate, at the Bosnian Cultural Centre in Sarajevo, on the topic The Path of Salvation from Homosexuality. Harmin Suljic, one of the speakers, launched a tirade against homosexuals and called for their public lynching.
