Slovenia is an unlikely showcase for successful organic farming given its small population (two million) and even smaller farms (average size 5.5 hectares compared to 175 in the U.S.). Yet, with private and public commitment, organic farms grew by 300 percent between 1998 and 2003, and even at twice the price of conventional food, supermarkets report that consumer demand for organic food outstrips supply.

22.05.2003 The trial against Slobodan Milosevic in the Hague recently witnessed the cross-examination with the former Slovenian president Milan Kucan. Kucan rejected categorically the accusation - of having caused the break-up of Yugoslavia -directed to him by Milosevic.
