The copyrights in Albania are protected by law and is statutory in article 58 of the Albanian Constitution. On the other hand, Albania is signatory of a series of international conventions and treaties (the Bern, Rome, Geneva, Paris conventions) and member of OMPI (Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle) as well.

The Albanian Coalition for Children's Education, which includes 10 major child-rights organisations in the country, opened officially in Tirana 25 April 2006 the Campaign "Every child needs a Teacher", which in Albania is organised under the motto "Every child needs a qualified teacher". The campaign in Albania is part of the Global Campaign for Education, which takes place all over the world between 24-30 April and this year it is dedicated to teachers.

Last Friday, April 21, Tirana celebrated the "EARTH day", with numerous activities taking place in the park in front of the National Bank in Tirana. To take care of our planet - the EARTH is a joint initiative of Tirana Municipality and EDEN center.

Ermir Dobjani, Albanian Ombudsman, met on 7 April 2006 with representatives of the Coalition for Promotion of Women and Youth in Politics, which presented him with a petition requesting that a minimum quota of 30 percent for women participation in politics is set up and officially regulated.
