21.08.2006 On 7 August 2006, the ERRC sent a letter to Ardian Turku, Mayor of Elbasan, expressing concern about the forced evictions and resulting homelessness of 109 Romani individuals. The ERRC urged Mayor Turku to ensure that the urgent housing needs of these evicted families are addressed immediately.

10.08.2006 Tens of activists of MJAFT Movement build yesterday (on Wednesday) a wall at the Rinia Park to symbolize the gap and division existing between the executive and the real needs of the citizens. On the one side of this concrete wall the activists wrote some of the unfulfilled needs like lack of water supplies, lack of electric power or other basic services.

04.08.2006 "Chicks on speed" performed for the first time in Albania in the fourth edition of MJAFT FEST which took part in the resort of Livadh, five kilometers away from Himara.

02.08.2006 It is estimated that, at this moment, more than 20,000 Albanian students study abroad, at different universities in Europe and the United States. Having in mind the contemporary prevalence of the know-how principle, the global way of thinking and different working styles implemented abroad, these students are considered one of the main factors of renewal and transformation of Albanian economy into a stable one, capable of global competition.

01.08.2006 Under the framework of joint activities of the Network for Open Society in Albania (NOSA), Open Society Foundation in Albania (OSFA) and Partners-Albania, in cooperation with the Experts Group on legislation and economy, has worked together since 2005 to analyze the legal framework that regulates the activity of non-for-profit sector in Albania.
