The citizens of Macedonia donÂ’t trust the media, shows the latest Early Warning Report prepared by the UNDP Office to Macedonia. According to the EWR, two thirds of the polled citizens donÂ’t trust the media or the contents they publish.

The support by the citizens of EU member-states for Macedonian membership in the European Union, which was never actually to big, follows a slow downward trend, claims Eurobarometer, ECÂ’s public opinion research agency.

The Leaders of the European Union agreed to grant Macedonia with the status of candidate for EU membership, at the meeting of the European Council that ended late on Friday night in Brussels. Macedonia did not, however, receive a date for the start of negotiations.

A group of students, accommodated at the “Pelagonija” State Dormitory, accused the Students Union of the “Ss. Cyril and Method” University (SSUKM) of failure to complete the procedures for election of members of the Student Tenants Council for the dormitory. They complain that SSUKM just makes empty promises of imminent elections.

The billboards with the propeller logo and Europe Now slogan were raised all over Macedonia, on the same day the Summit of EU Leaders started in Brussels, which is expected to adopt a decistion to grant Macedonia status of candidate for EU Membership.

The Students Union of Skopje University (SSUKM) plans to collect the funds necessry to build new student accomodation facilities through over-the-phone donations and a concert at the Universal Hall in Skopje. Every call to a special number, to be released at a later date, and the ticket to the concert will cost 100 denars.

Vladimir Milcin, Executive Director of FOSIM cut the red ribbon and officially opened the Youth Cultural Centre in Bitola. The Centre is situated in an old house, a cultural heritage monument, located on Samoilova Street.

The Youth Education Forum (MOF) promoted its latest publication, the Little (Cool) Tour of the Judiciary, dedicated to the youth that wish to learn more about their rights; recognize that their right have been violated; to know which institution they should address for legal assistance or to report a violation or other wrongdoing.

Polio Plus, in cooperation with several other civil associations involved in the field of assistance to the disabled persons, started a campaign to collect the signatures for the petition to propose a Law that would enable the disabled persons to lead dignified lives.

On the occasion of the World AIDS Day, December 1, MIA StopSida civil asociation promoted the 50,000 pledges made by young people between the ages of 14 and 18, from Macedonia, under the month-long campaign “Stop AIDS - Keep the promise”. MIA StopSida also presented the result of the research study on the sexual habits, use of condoms, personal sexual experiences and the first intercourse of 864 young people in the country.
