The Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonian (FOSIM) and the Ministry of the Interior signed an agreement for cooperation, which obligates FOSIM to supply technical assistance of total value of 40,000 EUR to the Ministry.

The Megjasi Children Embassy launched a campaign to prevent the violence against children in Macedonia. The campaign was provoked by the recent incidents involving beatings of little children that ultimately lead to their deaths.

Metamorphosis Foundation organises OpenOffice.org training for representatives of local self-government units in Republic of Macedonia. The training is held in Riviera Hotel in Ohrid, from 15 to 20 January, 2007. About 100 employees in 25 Macedonian municipalities will be trained during the six day training.

Metamorphosis and Free Software non-governmental organizations demand from the Government to enable the citizens to choose, if they want, to be trained in the use of free and open source software, for which there is great interest in the public. According to the two organizations, the FOSS alternatives, such as Open Office, in addition to providing the same services as the proprietary software used by the Government, offer other benefits, important in the current economic situation in the country.

MOST Civic Association will monitor the extraordinary local elections in the municipality of Saraj with 82 accredited observers, in static teams in all ballot stations during the whole ballot day, which will be give logistic support by five mobile teams.

On.net is one of the most prominent internet service providers now trying to move into other areas of telecommunications. It has already signed the interconnection agreement with incumbent operator of fixed land-lines, Macedonian Telecommunications.
