18.07.2006 A recent survey conducted by Centre for Development of Inclusive Society and Centre for Study of Alternatives shows that 87 percent of the disabled persons in Serbia are unemployed, while 70 percent live in poverty, due to low income they make. The results also show a greater percentage of women with disabilities, compared to men, live with the status of dependent persons.

01.07.2006 The former Director General of the World Conservation Union (IUCN), Ahim Steiner, said that the organization adopted a "very purposeful decision" to open its programming regional office for the Southeast Europe in Belgrade, with the goal to provide assistance through advise, but also to help the approximation of national environmental protection policies with EU legislation, under the process of European integrations.
