29.03.2007 The Civic Initiatives, in cooperation with the European Centre for Non-profit Law (ECNL) from Budapest, and under the auspices of the Civil Society Advocacy Initiative – CSAI programme implemented by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) prepares a Manual on Tax System for Civic Association in Serbia. The manual is financed by USAID.

29.03.2007 The Vojvodina Executive Council (the provincial government) adopted the Draft Law on Gender Equality, proposed by the Provincial Secretariat of Labour, Employment and Gender Equality.

21.03.2007 At the end of March 2007, the National Decentralization Coalition (NDC) will complete the first phase of its work in public advocacy of decentralization, supported by Washington-based National Endowment for Democracy (NED). As we already announced, the activities of this first phase will officially close with a conference organized by the NDC.

20.03.2007 The Parliament of Montenegro decided to include the proposed Draft-Law on Protection of Households in the Energy Sector in its agenda of legislation to be debated. The Draft was prepared by the Network for Affirmation of the NGO Sector (MANS), and was supported by more than 7,000 citizens who signed the petition.

14.03.2007 The Youth Initiative for Human Rights Visiting Program provides the opportunity for young people, students and professionals from Serbia and Kosovo to meet professionals in related fields of interest and to visit places of interest (i.e. museums, theatres, universities, media houses, etc).

13.03.2007 Two thirds (65%) of persons polled for the public opinion survey organized by Labris Organization for Lesbian Human Rights said they have experienced violence motivated by their sexual orientation. Only ten percent of them reported the violence to the authorities, says the annual US Department of State 2006 Human Rights Report on Serbia.

13.03.2007 Two activists of the MANS Network for Affirmation of NGO Sector, who collected signatures for a petition in Podgorica, were attacked by five persons whose identity remains unknown.

13.03.2007 The Millennium Centre for Civil Society Development published Future of Civil Society, a book of speeches by assassinated Prime Minister Djindjic, his essays on conditions in the civil society, but also texts and essays by Vukasin Pavlovic from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Zoran Stojiljkovic and Srecko Mihajlovic from the Social Sciences Institute.

08.03.2007 B92 Radio’s Pescanik show, prepared by Svetlana Lukic and Svetlana Vukovic, won the 2006 Award Presented by Reporters Sans Frontiers – Austria.

07.03.2007 The Creative Commons International approved the first draft of Serbian Creative Commons License. The draft is published on creativecommons.org/worldwide/rs in Serbian and English language.

06.03.2007 Vanja Calovic, Director of the Network for Affirmation of Nongovernmental Sector – MANS, and Veselin Bajceta, Assistant to the MANS Anti-Corruption programme, were detained on Sunday, March 4, by Podgorica Police, during the “KAP Spends, Who Pays?”

02.03.2007 Within itÂ’s activities for promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility, the Smart Collective, together with a number of leading companies in Serbia, initiated the creation of database that would cover studies of cases related to socially responsible activities of companies in Serbia.
