The conference, Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Adriatic is organized by the Slovenian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Urban Planning, in cooperation with UNEP/MAP INFO/RAC.

A group of students from the "Metodi Mitevski Brico" high school from Delcevo, won the prestigious Platinum Prize Award for best web-site at the Doors to Diplomacy 2006 award competition, organized by the US State Department. The students won this years award in a strong competition of 306 projects from 46 states in the world.

Britain's National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education yesterday approved an academic boycott of Israeli higher education institutions that do not condemn Israel's "apartheid policy".

On the occasion of May 31, the World No-Tobacco Day, the Union for Prevention of Alcoholism, Nicotinism and Drug-Abuse of Macedonia and "Opstanok" environmental association demanded the urgent adoption of a National Programme for Prevention of Addictions, which will contribute to the state moving the focus of its activities from treatment of consequences to prevention.

The Ecotopia Biketour the best known global caravan of its type. It includes activists primarily youth from many countries of Europe and the world. This year, for the second time in its 16 years of history, the project includes Croatia. After its start in Lithuania, the Biketour will proceed through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia and is expected to arrive to Croatia in September 2006.

The OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro is alarmed by recent activities of the Republican Broadcasting Agency (RBA) Council. While the OSCE acknowledges the fact that an independent regulatory body should be entrusted with the authority to allocate broadcasting licences, it calls on the Council to respect national law and international standards, as well as decisions of judicial bodies such as the Supreme Court.
