Ninety teachers from Central, Western and Volta Regions of Africa would by the end of the year undergo ICT training to prepare students for the "i2cap"ICT Competition scheduled to take place at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT in November and December 2005. The coordinator of the project, Mr. Ebenezer Kye-Mensah said.

Film-maker Kim Longinotto took it as a challenge when the compere at last year's OneWorld Broadcasting Trusts media awards ceremony said he hoped that the following year's event would include films with positive images of Africa. It got me thinking, recalls Longinotto. Every film on Africa seemed to be about AIDS or refugees or war. I took it as a direct challenge. The result of her thoughts can be seen in London on 26 and 28 October.

Uganda's president has given the Kinshasa government and its UN allies two months to disarm rebels based in Eastern Congo and intent on toppling the Ugandan government. If they do not, Ugandan troops will enter Congolese territory to accomplish the task, he warned, evoking memories of a 1998 invasion that brought six armies into a brutal regional conflict.
