Bolivia's new president is pushing for a new body politic that would ensure the representation of the country's two-thirds majority indigenous population. A minimum of one-third of the seats would be held by women too.

Raised in poverty, Aymara and Mapuche indigenous children from the northern and southern regions of Chile tend to drop out of school to go to work.

For nearly two decades Stella Cros has been living on the streets, but now she is interviewing celebrities as the worlds first homeless talk show host. Stellitas Living Room is the latest initiative by La Colifata, a community station, to de-stigmatize homelessness and raise awareness about social ills in a country where nearly 40% of the population lives below the poverty line.

Chile's first female president has appointed ten men and ten women to the cabinet, including some political novices, making it the first of its kind in the western hemisphere and one of only a handful in the world. While there was little public uproar over her selections, some analysts are concerned that Bachelet's "new style of government" may sacrifice competence for image.
