30.05.2006 Britain's National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education yesterday approved an academic boycott of Israeli higher education institutions that do not condemn Israel's "apartheid policy".
The decision will have an official shelf life of less than three days, as on Thursday the two unions will merge, and the resolution will only be advisory to the new union.

The West Bank and Gaza, already in a deep depression, face massive job loss, says Nathan Brown.
23.05.2006 This is a time for supple rather than sledgehammer diplomacy with Palestine, says the Carnegie Foundation's Nathan Brown, because throwing Hamas out of power will not bring about reform-oriented leadership, it will bring about chaos and further disintegration that serves nobody's interest.
