Kosovo and Serbia are in a difficult position, because they have not come to terms with the past and the present political situation is uncertain. Both governments, together with Europe, need to find a solution that will not give rise to new conflicts. Curators, activists, and artists in Belgrade and Prishtina are already participating in joint projects and attempting to reach a better understanding of each othersÂ’ viewpoints.

Despite difficult postwar conditions and abnormal circumstances during most of the 1990s, KosovoÂ’s labor market is on its way to functioning normally. Stimulated by institutional flexibility and liberal wage determination framework, employment has rebounded to pre-war levels, but unemployment rate is still large.
