The PolioPlus association launched the campaign for promotion of the rights of mobility and access for the persons with special needs, aimed to provide more parking spaces for the persons with special needs in Macedonia.

Representatives and specialists of Ekolevizja, a group of environmental NGOs visited Elbasan on September 22, 2005. They met with the Mayor of Elbasan, Ardian Turku, the Rector Jani Dode and the Dean Ziso Themollari from the Alexander Xhuvani University. The main purpose of the meeting was to create new collaboration paths with the local government and to provide for the future sustainability of the civil society.

The new owner of Dalmacijacement from Split, the CEMEX international corporation, decided to lay off one hundred workers. The president of the United Trade Unions of Croatia, Ozren Matijasevic, said that the unions tried to fight for preservation of all jobs, but the ownership rejected their efforts.

The Youth Information Desk in Zenica was officially opened today, by the Mayor of Zenica Husein Smajlovic and the Executive Director of the Youth Information Agency, Jan Zlatan Kulenovic. The Youth Info Desk Zenica was established in partnership of the Municipality of Zenica and OIA B&H, with the financial support by the Open Society Institute B&H.

The first International Forum of Environmental Journalists ended yesterday in Pozega. The three day forum was organized by the Croatian Environmental Press Centre, under the patronage of Ministry of Environmental Protection, Construction and Spatial Planning, discussed the subject of Importance of Environmental Journalism in Environmental protection and prevention of devastation.

"Our institutions are determined to fight human trafficking in Kosovo, said Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi yesterday, at the press conference that marked the launch of the campaign for increase of public awareness, prevention and fighting human trafficking. The Campaign will be implemented by the Office of the Prime Minister, with the support by IOM International Office of Migrations and financed by USAID.

Krusevo and Prilep will be the starting point of the caravan that will travel throughout Macedonia, with the intent to collect 10,000 signatures for the petition to adopt a Law on Protection of Rights and Dignity of Disabled Persons. The initiative was started by Polio Plus, in cooperation with 23 other associations of persons with special needs.

The Albanian Students Council asked the Government of the new Prime Minister Berisha to to secure that all students that won accommodation in the open competition at the beggining of September will actually get a bet at some of the student dormitories. In accordance with the Communique of Bergen, the student accomomodation is an obligation of the Government, and ASG demands that the government complies with it in accordance to the standards.

The first Information Technology Trade Fair in Kosovo was officially closed yesterday, September 25. Advanced technology by 34 companies from Kosovo and Macedonia were exhibited at the three-day fair. During the three days of the Fair, over 10,000 people have visited the fair.
