The Osjek Greens association sent an open letter today, to all Members of the Sabor (Croatian Parliament), on the occasion of the start of Debate on problems in Pozega-Slavonija County. The open letter demands expansion of investigation and urgent legal measures to stop the work and close the Velicanka 2 quarry, operated by Kamen-Ingrad company from Velika, currently involved in bankruptcy procedures.

Mass computer education for all citizens from 18 to 60 years regardless their qualifications and introducing informatics as compulsory subject in primary education are just few of the many pre-election promises in then new government program that are related to accelerated development of information society in Macedonia. In VMRO-DPMNE, the new ruling political party, claims that the establishing of ministry of information society is a certain thing. The ministry will be the bearer of the accelerated ICT introducing in Macedonia program. However, for realisation of this idea the ruling party needs support from the opposition.

The Childrens Human Rights Center in Albania CRCA, held in the premises of Hotel Tirana International a public ceremony to award three journalists with the Child Rights Media Award 2005, and to introduce the official opening of Child Rights Media Award 2006. The event was funded by Olof Palme International Center and SIDA Sweden.

Vega Humanitarian Organization from Skopje strongly opposes the idea of the local self-government in Suto Orizari Municipality to change the name of the July 26 elementary school into Arben Bajrami Elementary. VEGA condemned the already adopted decision of the Local School Board that the name should change.

The Marita Foundation promoted today its new web-site dedicated to the youth in Macedonia, http://youth.marita-mk.org. The web-site will be edited and updated by the young people from the Foundations volunteering office and the Children Parliament of Macedonia, in cooperation with correspondents from all parts of Macedonia.

Within the global activities organized on the occasion of September 21, International Day of Peace, the Ars Studio NGO will open an art and graphic novel exhibition with works by Macedonian and foreign authors. The exhibition will be officially opened on Thursday, September 21, 20:00 hours, at the Sv. Kliment Ohridski National and University Library in Skopje.
