The Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonian (FOSIM) and the Ministry of the Interior signed an agreement for cooperation, which obligates FOSIM to supply technical assistance of total value of 40,000 EUR to the Ministry.

In 1996, a group of students, with financial assistance from the Montenegro Open Society Institute, started the work on the Juventas Youth Magazine. This initiative later transformed into the OKC Juventas (Youth Cultural Centre). The exact date was January 29, 1996.

The Megjasi Children Embassy launched a campaign to prevent the violence against children in Macedonia. The campaign was provoked by the recent incidents involving beatings of little children that ultimately lead to their deaths.

The Documenta Centre for Dealing with the Past, the Humanitarian Law Centre from Belgrade and the Sarajevo based Research and Documentation Centre, organize the Second International Conference on Finding the Truth after the end of war and hostilities, in Zagrebs Sheraton Hotel, February 8-9, 2007. The first conference was held in Sarajevo in May 2006.

Last week, the regional women portal www.ekviva.net was official launched. At the moment, the portal gathers information on women issues, as well as civil society topics, in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. It has an international editorial office with editors sitting in Zagreb, Split, Sarajevo, Tuzla and Belgrade.

The Parliamentary Elections in Serbia proceeded in line with international standards, reports the International Election Observation Mission (IEOM). The Elections provided the citizens with a true opportunity to select from a wide array of political platforms and were conducted in accordance with OSCE criteria and the Council of Europe standards on democratic elections, yet, there are certain provisions in election legislation that need to be reviewed, claims IEOM.
