When faced with such disastrous statistics, it can be easy for us to feel overwhelmed – to see malaria as another problem that is too big and too complex. The reality is different: malaria is 100 per cent preventable. But action must be taken before the mosquito bites.

Plomin power plant
31.05.2007 In partnership with Zelena Istra (Green Istria>, the GONG held a debate in Labin, May 25, to discuss the location of the LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) terminal and the possibility to construct a third thermoelectric power plant in Plomin that would use coal as fuel. The large audience that gathered to follow the debate confirmed the great interest and concern of the local population about the future welfare of their region.

Last year the government and UNICEF in their joint survey had found more than 90% children suffering from various forms of violence like hunger, exploitation and rape.

La conferenza ha concluso il ciclo di riflessione quadriennale sui continenti nei quali donne dell'Africa, America Latina, dell'Asia, dell’Europa dell’Est e dei Balcani hanno presentato le loro attività e la loro visione di un mondo "diverso, multiplo, mescolato". Dal prossimo anno, la World Social Agenda proporrà percorsi, dibattiti e eventi a Padova, Trento e Bolzano sugli "Obiettivi del Millennio" proposti dall'Onu.

Les trois quarts des mères ayant des enfants âgés de trois à cinq ans travaillent à l'extérieur du foyer. Plus de la moitié des enfants sont confiés à des services de garde d’une forme ou d’une autre. Devant ces faits, les gouvernements fédéral et provinciaux du Canada ont le devoir de veiller à ce que nos enfants aient accès à des services sûrs et de qualité », affirme Ken Georgetti, président du Congrès du travail du Canada.

Izbori su građanima Srbije pružili istinsku mogućnost da biraju iz čitavog spektra političkih platformi i sprovedeni su u skladu sa zahtevima OEBS-a i standardima Saveta Evrope koji se odnose na demokratske izbore. Ipak, ostaju pojedine odredbe izbornog zakonodavstva koje je potrebno razmotriti, navodi se u saopštenju.
