"If you are a filmmaker concerned about whats going on in our world today, add your stories to OneWorldTV and join this radical network on the cutting edge of technology and social change." Mike Figgis, Film Director (Leaving Las Vegas, TimeCode)
OneWorldTV is a unique open documentary platform for filmmakers, video journalists, NGOs and just about anyone with a video camera and an interest in social issues. It gives you the opportunity to access video messages and short films from around the world. Anyone with access to a camera and computer can contribute their films. In the year since the site launched more than 4,000 people have registered as OneWorldTV members, from 57 countries. Together our members help create an online community for sharing experiences, opening debates and expanding the horizons of audio-visual communications.
Anyone can join the OneWorldTV community and begin uploading their own video footage, provided its relevant to the core themes of the site: human rights, sustainable development and the environment. Joining OneWorldTV is quick, easy and best of all free.
OneWorldTV is constantly evolving and the next stage has been to create a separate area on the site for showcasing your video material created using video-enabled mobile phones, which started at the recent G8 summit with hundreds of people submitting their personal messages to the world leaders. This latest area is still under construction so keep checking the site for the next phase of the development. OneWorldTV is currently funded by the MacArthur Foundation and has been funded in the past by the Rockefeller Foundation, DfID and Open Society Institute. OneWorld TV team
