Britt Jorgensen

Britt Jorgensen
Britt works with OneWorld UK on projects using mobile phones for social good. She led OneWorld’s involvement in two policy papers for Department for International Development (DfID) and Commission for Africa on the impact of mobile phones in Africa, and her range of responsibilities include project management, strategy planning, developing new projects and overseeing Mobile for Good and Learning about Living projects alongside Uju Ofomata.

Before leaving her native Denmark for London in 2000 Britt worked at Scandinavia’s leading thinktank Mandag Morgen on human capital, learning and creativity.

She holds a BA as well as an MA in Information Studies - an interdisciplinary course about the influence of technology on people, organisations and society - and she was able to develop this knowledge further while working for the UK thinktank Forum for the Future, where she researched digital technology and sustainable development.

While working at Metrocomia - a new media company with joint ventures in the South – she specialised in global digital divide issues. She also managed to find the time to co-author a book Making the Net Work - Sustainable Development in a Digital Society.

Occasionally you can catch Britt’s technology features on the National Danish Radio airwaves. She also practices Jivamukti yoga and loves to spend her time having fun with her baby son.
