OneWorld Peer Exchange

Welcome to OneWorld UK's Peer Exchange.
Sharing knowledge & best practice with your peers

Peer Exchange #2
A monthly forum to exchange knowledge & best practice with peers.

We will be hosting regular monthly sessions throughout 2009, these are usually held on the last Wednesday of the month.

Next session:
From the centre to the edge: organisational change and new media

It's hard enough for us individually to keep up with and adapt to the phenomenal - and increasing - pace of change in New Media, and its impact on communications. It is infinitely harder for organisations, large and small.
Maintaining business as usual while experimenting creatively without damaging brand; fending off alarming enthusiasms from eager senior managers while identifying and gaining consensus around persisting trends in time to benefit from their impact; enabling non-specialist managers to understand
the impact on their business of new cultures and processes emerging within converging audiences while developing new tools to anticipate their responses: all in a day's work for modern media managers.

After nearly seven years - practically two internet generations - Hugh Wallace, Head of Interactive Media at Oxfam GB, is moving on. There've been major changes in online fund-raising, in how organisations like Oxfam present themselves on the web and engage their audiences. It's a good point
to reflect and comment on those changes, talk about what has worked and what hasn't. It's also an opportunity to talk about how organisations do learn and change and how hard-pressed New Media specialists can influence and steer those changes. How have you and your organisations responded over that
period? Come and share your ideas and learning at the next OWPE.
