Wednesday 18 April, 19.00-20.30 Future global issues and what the planet might face by 2025 including carbon credits, expensive fuel, global health inequality are discussing at this event. Future scenarios will be presented by actors revealing how technology might impact on our everyday life before a discussion with scientists. This event is run in partnership with sciencehorizons. Is Water the Next Oil? Thursday 19 April, 19.00-20.30 Demand for water supplies is under increasing pressure from an ever-growing population and from agriculture because of climate change. Some experts are pressing for water conservation on a global scale and others are predicting that water shortages will replace oil as the next crises. This event discusses what the social and economic implications could be and what the future holds for water in the UK. Rights for Robots Tuesday 24 April, 19.00-20.30 Horizon-scanners believe robots could be demanding rights within 50 years, including benefits such as housing and robot healthcare. This event looks at the rise of artificial intelligence, including conscious robots and what the implications for society might be. The Dana Centre, the Science Museum's stylish adults-only bar and café dedicated to discussing contemporary science, medicine, technology and the environment. |
