Urban Green Fair

The first ever URBAN GREEN FAIR

Sunday 9th September 2007

Brockwell Park, Brixton

11am to 7pm

FREE ENTRY

THE URBAN GREEN FAIR AIMS TO CHANGE OUR IDEAS AND ACTIONS ON ENERGY USE

A free day out in the park with a wealth of information on sustainable urban living, health and energy, with top speakers, engaging poets, great DJs, craft and campaign stalls, music, local food, activities for kids and live acts all powered by working examples of renewable energy.

The Urban Green Fair will be organised into zones looking into future urban, green lifestyles and showing ways we can get our Co2 emissions down 60% in the next 10 years to avert the 20C tipping point and break our addiction to fossil fuels before they jump in massively in price and unbalance the economy.

There will be 6 zones covering Social Justice and Green Action, Health, Green Kids, Save Our World, Waste Not, Energy / Peak Oil , Urban Transport and Urban Food.

Glimpse into the future, see how to skill-up for power down, test ride a multitude of bicycles, judge the best bread in the borough, see a solar cooker, sample some cider, sip some tea, listen to an expert and see viable practical lifestyle alternatives and recycling ideas. Working in partnership with Transport for London, the London Cycling Campaign, and other groups to promote alternative modes of transport.

The Social Justice Zone will be offering practical and engaging discussions of
social justice and green action. A Solar Powered Cinema will be showing films and shorts on local, global, musical, environmental and social justice issues including Taking Liberties, 4Real Kenya/Venezuela, Reel News , Injustice, Who Shot the Sheriff, Cheat Neutral.
