Cocoa Farming Must Benefit W. African Children, Farmers

I read with interest the article "Thousands of Kids will Give Chocolates Back Tonight, with a Message."
We strongly believe that cocoa farming must benefit West African children and farmers, which is why we are working to make a better life for children and adults on cocoa farms by helping to raise family incomes, improve education and health and promote safe, responsible labor practices. Cocoa farmers face many challenges; on the two million West African cocoa farms cocoa is grown in much the same manner as it was 100 years ago. The overwhelming majority of farmers grow cocoa responsibly, but there are issues such as low farmer incomes, unsafe working conditions and lack of schooling.
