Chad obtained degrees in communications studies from Concordia University and San Francisco State University. He worked in teaching posts in Japan and designed grassroots websites for communities in Morocco, where he was active in organising workshops/trainings. In San Francisco, he worked as assignment editor for KRON-TV (NBC affiliate), researching and breaking stories. In 2002-2003, he was the Centre Director for OneWorld Canada. Currently he is the policy officer for the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation in Montreal.
