Partnership agreement

OneWorld UK offers the agreement below as the basis of the relationship between any UK- or Ireland-based partner organisation and OneWorld.

In this agreement:
  • "OneWorld" means OneWorld International Ltd (Registered Company No. 3153786) and its project OneWorld UK. OneWorld International Ltd is the wholly owned subsidiary of the OneWorld International Foundation (UK Registered Charity No. 1095287), 2nd Floor, River House, 143/145 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3AB, UK.
  • "The partner" means any organisation that has applied to be a OneWorld partner.
  • "Supersite" means OneWorld UK, oneworld.net and all associated OneWorld websites where partners' material is featured and indexed and links are highlighted to partners' websites.

In return for the partnership subscription, whether on a paying or free trial basis:

OneWorld International undertakes to supply partners with the following services:
  • OneWorld editors will scan the partner's website on a regular basis for suitable material to be highlighted in the different sections of the OneWorld supersite. By making such links, OneWorld assumes no liability in relation to the partner's material itself.
  • Systematic indexing by country/region and theme of all the partner's web content as featured on OneWorld's pages for public searching via the OneWorld search engine.
  • Inclusion of the partner's name in the OneWorld partner directory, with a description of the organisation in the partner's own words, a direct link to the partner's own website, and an organisational profile page on the OneWorld supersite giving address and contact details and a history of the partner's coverage on OneWorld.
  • Invitations to partners' meetings, where held, to discuss issues relating to OneWorld's services to partners.
  • Free use of the D-groups collaborative workgroups tool (www.dgroups.org).
  • Discounts on production and other services.

The partner undertakes to:
  • Provide OneWorld with the right to cross-reference, highlight, summarise or describe with introductory links material contained in the partner's website throughout the OneWorld supersite.
  • Permit OneWorld to copy on the supersite images related to the partner's web content, provided that OneWorld displays the copyright information as it appears on the partner's website.
  • Display a OneWorld logo and link on the home page of their website.
  • Permit the OneWorld spider to index the partner's site on a regular basis.

Contract termination
Either party shall have the right to terminate this agreement on giving the other party written notice.

OneWorld reserves the right to terminate its contract with the partner:
  • Following the end of any free trial period, if the partner does not agree to subscription payments.
  • If the partner fails to make any payments due.
  • If the partner is in breach of this agreement and fails to remedy the breach having been given reasonable notice to do so by OneWorld.
  • If the partner publishes material on their website which OneWorld decides is contrary to the aims of OneWorld.

Nothing in this agreement creates the relationship of legal partnership between OneWorld and any organisation which contracts to use its services.

These terms and conditions contain the entire agreement between the parties.

Neither party is bound by any representations, oral or written, made either before or after this agreement comes into existence.

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to its courts.

Free trial partnership and fees
OneWorld UK offers all new partners free trial partnership for the first three months. After this, we need to charge a modest annual subscription fee to help us meet our operating costs.

We ask UK and Ireland partners to contribute on a sliding scale linked to their income:

If our fees present a serious financial barrier to your ability to participate in the OneWorld community, then please contact us at uk@oneworld.net. In special circumstances we accept in-kind services against annual fees.
