OneWorld centres
|
OneWorld centres form a network of organisations around the world that share the same vision. They work together to support OneWorld's partner organisations and to create OneWorld's web pages for their countries and regions.
Centres are autonomous, non-profit organisations with shared values. They use the OneWorld identity, technology and worldwide audience to build on the potential of the net in their own area and languages. At present there are eleven OneWorld centres - in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Helsinki, London, Lusaka, Montréal, New Delhi, San José, Trento, Vienna, Washington.
A list of centre contacts is available here. The work of the centres Each centre nominates a member of OneWorld's governing Board of Trustees and contributes to the work of the whole in two main ways: (1) Editorial Each centre has an editor or team of editors who select the content that appears on OneWorld's pages - news, opinion, events, campaigns, and so on - mainly from our partners' websites. Each centre's editors work in languages used in their locality. (2) Partnership A partnership manager in each centre coordinates relationships with the OneWorld partner organisations in its country or region. OneWorld particularly values the "bottom-up" knowledge of people confronting their own issues. The OneWorld partnership is an online community of over 1,500 partner organisations covering a spectrum of community, development, environmental and human rights activities. Becoming a centre If your organisation shares our values and you are planning to run a portal site aggregating material for global justice organisations in your region, contact OneWorld International. |
