Girls Scouts of the USA and Americans for Informed Democracy teamed up recently for a video conference for girls on "Women and Global Leadership." Girls in five cities heard presentations from and posed questions to five high profile women leaders.

Student leaders from across the United States will discuss the spread of nuclear weapons at a conference in Washington, D.C. this weekend, where they hope to raise the profile of the issue and learn how to effectively advocate for non-proliferation and disarmament.

Current and future educators are invited to apply for a one-day conference, which will bring together educators and university students preparing to be teachers for a day of workshops and discussions equipping them with the tools to bring global awareness back to their classrooms. To apply for the Midwest Global Educators Conference, please send a resume and cover letter to
application@aidemocracy.org. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis through Oct. 27 and applicants will be notified within 24 hours of submission if they have been selected to attend the conference.
