Humanitarian Organization "Vesta"

Association Vesta was established in 1998 by local citizens, and has developed a clear mission and vision of its activities. Our name comes from the legend of the Goddess named Vesta, whose temple cherished the flame considered by the citizens of Rome as a symbol of warmth, gathering around the fireplace and hospitality. Through its activities, Vesta tries to improve the work of the local media in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to support and develop gender equality, encourage and strengthen active participation of citizens in development of local communities, protection of environment, as well as to give continued education in institutional strengthening. Our activities feature participation of a large number of volunteers – individuals and organizations – while our work and development lead us towards self-sustainability and recognition in the community. The organization has established a non-profit, non-governmental and the first gender-sensitive radio station, VestaRadio, through which it broadcasts its programme from its studio in Tuzla.
