CDAS was set up following British media hysteria around asylum seekers. CDAS campaigns against
the scapegoating of refugees, the British Government's "get tough" asylum seeker
policies and the racist violence this has engendered.

Asylum seekers could be sent back to face torture, persecution or death as a result of proposals in the new Asylum Bill denying them a fair hearing. Get friends, workmates, neighbours and fellow students to sign this petition (pdf) to show their opposition to the Home Secretarys plans. January 2004
