"Diaspora-giving" already is worth far more than official aid. Now a Bangladeshi NGO is exploring the possibility of a sort of "peace corps" that would see British Bangladeshis volunteering in the South Asian country.

The Netherlands government plans to fund Bangladesh NGO BRAC for its new WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Programme) initiative in response to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). BRACs WASH Programme plans to achieve the Environmental Sustainability target set under the MDGs.

BRAC and Emergence Energy, Inc. of the USA recently signed an agreement to conduct a pilot research on energy and environment called Project Emergence. The project will look at producing environmentally-sound energy locally and also create sustainable jobs.
