Thousands of birthday cards will be delivered to a representative of the World Bank on Wednesday after a "drop-the-debt" party/rally in honor of the Bank. NGOs are calling on the World Bank/IMF to initiate debt cancellation programs for impoverished countries on the occasion of its 60th anniversary. The cards were collected from different countries around the world, they all bear messages about the effect of the debt on communities around the world.
