The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) prepared this report to provide input to both the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Social Responsibility Conference (June 2122, 2004) and to the ISO Technical Management Boards meeting (June 24, 2004). It is presented in three parts: i) an introduction to IISDs perspective on SR and standardization; ii) issues related to ISOs role in sustainable development standardization; and iii) recommendations related to the next steps in the ISO SR standardization process.
