Flowers of Bhutan
» Wildlife » Bhutan Guide
|
The multiple colours of Bhutans 5500 vascular plants grace meadows, roadsides and forests, especially in the rainy season, when most plants flower and few visitors are around to enjoy them. Information on each flower is based on Flowers of the Himalaya by Oleg Polunin and Adam Stainton. Any wrong identification is clearly my fault (unfortunately I am not a botanist). Let me know, so I can improve the reliability of the information. A few flowers, such as the blue poppy, Bhutans national flower, are protected.
