Who we are?
Oxfam Great Britain is a leading global development and humanitarian organisation. We have been working in East Asia for the past 50 years on issues of poverty and inequalities. Currently, we operate in Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. We are looking for dynamic team player for the following position based in Yangon, Myanmar.
The Role:
Your challenge will be the management of a large-scale programme, including remote management of different geographical and technical teams. As a strategic member of the Country Management Team, you will develop strong links with other country programme teams and relevant Oxfam East Asia regional staff to develop and deliver results. You will ensure a high quality programme integrating Oxfam’s policies and procedures. You will lead, inspire and develop a strong team and manage and support their capacity development, including implementing a succession plan ensuring the DCD position can be effectively replaced by a national postholder by the end of two year contract period. You will seek creative opportunities for funding your programme plans, together with the Country Director Your Representation of Oxfam to government officials, donors, UN agencies, and other NGO staff is another exciting part of the role.
The requirements:
• Strong programme management skills and over 5 years demonstrable experience of managing complex programmes.
• Proven range of experience of programme development and management, including both humanitarian and longer term development approaches.
• Proven experience of performance managing large teams, preferably over multiple locations and sectors, strong skills in designing and building teams.
• Proven experience of leading and supporting teams to develop and implement effective monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches to ensure high programme quality.
• Experience of obtaining & managing large scale funding for programmes.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and spoken in English. Basic working knowledge of Myanmar would be desirable.
• Highly organised, able to work independently, strategic analytical skills, self-awareness, adaptable and flexible.
• Must demonstrate ability to adapt to different cultures.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the country and internationally as required.
