Professor Gunter Weller , Director of the Centre for Global Change and Arctic System Research, disagrees. Experts estimate that the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge contains no more than a six month supply of oil at current consumption rates. Even at full production, oil from ANWR would supply less than 2% of US oil and gas needs.
